If this problem keeps going through, even as people try to solve this problem, at that time it might be too late. The main reason for the South Pole ice shelf collapses is climate change, and the cause of climate change is global warming; both climate change and global warming have a connection that makes the earth environment bad. The earth is our living area, so humans should protect the earth from global warming. If humans try small activities at home to save the earth, the earth will no longer be hotter and hotter.

The Wilkins ice shelf is different from the other ice because it is more gradually thickened than the others, so if shelves break down, it affects rising global sea levels How do shelves come to melt? According to Easton (2008), ice break down will bad because catastrophic climate change might be going badly. The climate change is due to global warming. In Wikipedia encyclopedia, they had define about global warming, “Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and oceans since the mid-twentieth century, and its projected continuation” (n.d.). Actually, Antarctica is the coldest area in the world, but now the ice is melting; it could be affected by earth’s environment and humans. Now, humans faced with global warming. Henzell (2006) writes that global warming is caused by human activities. People have to protect the earth; instead now they have made it much worse than before. Most governments and global associations are focused on this problem and are trying to solve it. But it is hard to care about all problems for them; that is why people should figure out how to save the earth from global warming.
First of all, people should use renewable resources more than nonrenewable resources. This opinion is very important because renewable resources give us opportunities for saving the earth’s environment. Humans knew about those fossil fuels which are oil, gas, and coal, those are very useful and expensive resources. But they cause bad smoke to flow into the atmosphere. They gives bad influence to the ozone hole. It can increase greenhouse gas emission. In “S. Korea to reduce gas emission,” the author states that “The measures are designed to reduce the use of fossil fuels and to increase environment-friendly alternative energy.” (Yoon, 2007, para. 4). South Koreans are trying to solve global warming, so they have chosen specific ways to reduce fossil fuels and use nonrenewable resources, such as solar, wind and water energy. This should be a better way to save the earth from global warming because there are advantages; for example renewable resources don’t cause any kinds of pollution, because those don’t need any strict production systems for use in human life, and generally, people don’t need to worry about resource exhaustion.
Second, people have to take care of the earth’s natural resources. In “World Environment Day 2007,” the author states “The estimates were that the Greenland Ice sheet would take 3000 years to disappear, with half going in the first 1000 years, and resulting in a 7m sea-level rise. The West Antarctic Ice Sheet, which helps feed the Ross Ice Shelf, is seen as less vulnerable, but its melting could already be inevitable, which would contribute an estimated 6m to sea levels” (Henzell, 2007, para. 3). Ice melting is not only Antarctica’s problem but also Greenland has the same situation as Antarctica does. Now, both north and south hemispheres have the same problem; it will have double the sea level rise as the rest of the ocean. Also this article mentions that “we now know that ice sheets are home to 90 per cent of the world’s fresh water and, if they melted, sea levels would rise by nearly 70m” (Henzell, 2007, para. 2). Ice sheets provide something for people to live well, and are also a kind of helpful nature. Nature is based on the earth’s environment; it is one of the important basic resources. It helps people eat and live. Although it is helpful material to us, nature has been gradually destroyed by human’s hand. For example, forests give us many kinds of supplies, such as wood and fresh air, and people should prevent ocean pollution because global warming can easily destroy the ocean.
Third, people have to reduce greenhouse gas emission. In “Environment: Problems and Solutions,” the author states “Greenhouse effect. If there were no greenhouse gases, especially water vapor, the earth would be a cold and lifeless planet with an average surface temperature of -18℃(0℉) instead of its current 15℃ (59℉)” (Miller, 1994, p. 107). This article mentions that suitable greenhouse gas is needed in the earth’s ecosystem. If the atmosphere has too much greenhouse gas, the earth gets hotter, but a smaller amount of greenhouse gas will produce a colder earth. Generally, greenhouse gas is an essential resource. Kang (2007) claims, “Meteorological experts have warned of a possible global disaster in the next 50 years unless greenhouse gas is reduced to the level of 1990. Rising sea level and climate change, nonetheless, are believed to continue even after cutbacks on emissions of greenhouse gases” (para. 1). Although greenhouse gas is necessary, the amount of greenhouse gas emission causes of global warming. In addition global warming is main cause of climate change. If each house changes an electric-light bulb to a glow lamp, that should reduce greenhouse gas emission by 68Kg per year, and using public transportation might save the air pollution. Those actions should be helpful to save the earth from the global warming.
Opponents people who have an idea for the benefit of global warming, claim that global warming has given us an economic advantage. In “Global warming has economic, health benefits too, says Redwood,” the author states, “‘we will benefit from the better weather for tourism, agriculture and outdoor sports. Fewer people will die of the cold and from snow and ice in the winter.’ But he said that he was ‘sceptical’ about the scientific theory of global warming, but acknowledged that the world’s climate did appear to be getting hotter.” (2007, para. 2-3). This is kind of silly because global warming is not a support for business. It is a real problem, and humans are directly faced with global warming. Also this article says, “we do need to increase the water supply in the drier south of the UK and make sure we have enough water stored in case we have longer drier periods” (2007, para. 5). If this water supply market place gets bigger, it might give the earth a big problem. People should protect the earth from global warming. If the earth gets hotter and hotter, this business market will grow; it means nobody can live on earth anymore.
In conclusion, global warming is no longer just an environment problem, but is the biggest problem for humans; if people don’t solve this problem, humans can’t live on earth. Those solutions are very familiar ways, because everyone knows well about those problems. Those are definitely basic and serious problems. The earth is in human’s own hands; also there is nothing more important than the earth. The points of these facts are that we can just do small things, which we can do. It is first step to save the earth. Don’t try to solve a big problem, only focus on what you can. It is the best way to save the earth. The earth is not a supplier; it is our life and settlement, so people should protect the earth by themselves. This is human’s job and responsibility.

Bad effect of using chat
Have you ever talked with someone by using Internet chat? Nowadays the Internet is the most important supplier in our society. People can do everything in the Internet life, such as receiving information, doing work and becoming globalize. It helps our life become more comfortable. The chat community also belongs in the Internet society. Lee (2002) claims that recently most schools have a similar situation; teachers say that students’ homework was mostly written with shortened words, poorer capitalization and punctuation and strange character like &, $ and <3. It can bring some problems to society. In life, communication is important but if among people there is a communication gap, it produces a break in harmony between each generation. People should figure out how to chat with to children and how they can solve this problem.
The primary reason in that young students might have writing skill. In “The death of the sentence: is the writing on the wall?” the author states “Most prose that young people read nowadays, Yagoda says, is unedited – blogs, text messages and instant messages. Consequently, ‘the things that suffer most are spelling and punctuation. They put a comma, not a period, where there is a pause.’ ” (Weeks, 2008, para. 36). It also explains that young people have come to have grammatical problems in their writing skill. Actually, people have the essence of their own languages. If young people maintain their grammatical problems, after decades people will suffer form a communication problem.
In addition, in the United States, there are a number of international students how using chat influences their second language study. According to Almeida d’ Eca (2003), “Integrating chat in EFL/ESL can be powerfully motivating and bring enormous excitement to what is generally a difficult process – learning a language” (para. 3). It can be a helpful a way to learn a language; however, it can be a big risk because chat language is not perfect sentences. Practically, international students want to look more like a native speaker, but chat language has lots of hidden meanings so sometimes it might be hard to understand for the language learner.
It is very hard to figure whether chat is good or bad, but mostly it is close to a bad effect. It can be part of progress in communication. But that is not enough. If chat only produces more flexible communication that would be a good, but the problem is chat also produces confusion of communication.

In Bone’s (2007) article, “ A global warning for UN chief from the ice floes at the foot of the world,” he explains that Ban Ki Moon, who is the secretary-general of the United Nations, went to Antarctica because he wanted to gather information about Antarctica’s ice collapse problem. He had been to visit Antarctica before, when he was South Korean foreign minister. He thought that Antarctica is very impressive and beautiful even though it has a problem. The author discusses the fact that most scientists believe that the reason for Ice melting is climate change. The collapse of ice shelves belongs to the Antarctic Peninsula area. This ice is much stronger than the other. If shelves break down, that could raise the sea levels by over five meters. Some scientist predicted this problem a decade ago but at that time nobody cared what he said. But now this is most serious problem in the world.
It is a fact that Antarctica’s ice is beginning to melt and it means that global warming is getting worse. Most governments and global associations are focused on this problem and are trying to solve it. But it is hard to care about all problems for them. People should figure out how to save the earth from global warming, like reducing greenhouse gas, using renewable resources, and saving the earths resources.

If humans utilize renewable resources such as solar, wind and water energy, those should be a better way to save the earth from global warming and we don’t need to worry about energy exhaustion.
Last, people have to take care of the earth’s natural resources. Nature is an important resource around us. It helps people eat and live. Although it very helpful material to us, but nature has been gradually destroyed by human’s hand. People have to plant seeds in the ground. It looks like small work, but if everyone does it one time, it is going to make a big difference.
In conclusion, those facts are just one thing to save the earth. The point of there facts is that we can just do small tings, which we can do. It is the first step to save the earth. Don’t try to solve a big problem, only focus on what you can. It is the best way to save the earth. The earth’s owner is human; there is nothing more important than the earth.

First, people have to reduce greenhouse gas. The greenhouse gas is the main cause of global warming. It has destroyed the ozone. If ozone is broken, people can’t live more safely. If each house changes an electric-light bulb to a glow lamp, that should be reduce greenhouse gas by 68Kg per year and using public transportation might save the air pollution. Those facts should be helpful to save the earth from the global warming.
Second, people should use renewable resources more than nonrenewable resources. In the world the most expensive and useful resource is fossil fuel; however, it causes bad smoke to flow atmosphere. However, everyone uses it. It gives bad effect to ozone and world nature. If humans utilize renewable resources such as solar, wind and water energy, those should be a better way to save the earth from global warming and we don’t need to worry about energy exhaustion.
Last, people have to take care of the earth’s natural resources. Nature is an important resource around us. It helps people eat and live. Although it very helpful material to us, but nature has been gradually destroyed by human’s hand. People have to plant seeds in the ground. It looks like small work, but if everyone does it one time, it is going to make a big difference.
In conclusion, those facts are just one thing to save the earth. The point of there facts is that we can just do small tings, which we can do. It is the first step to save the earth. Don’t try to solve a big problem, only focus on what you can. It is the best way to save the earth. The earth’s owner is human; there is nothing more important than the earth.

In the National Snow and Ice Data Center (2008) article “Antarctic Ice Shelf Disintegration Underscores a Warming World” the author state that recent satellite imagery describes how the ice shelf come to collapse due to catastrophic climate change in the south pole. The Wilkins ice shelf is the widest and oldest of floating ice on the southwest Antarctic Peninsula. But satellite images explain how the Wilkins ice shelf comes to collapse. Also the author discussed the fact that the Wilkins ice does not affect the rising of the sea level but if it collapses, the other ice will fall down, so that will affect the rising of the sea level. Most scientists say that Antarctic’s ice shelf is an important resource in the world, so people should prevent more ice from breaking up.
Maybe it’s apparent that the ice shelf collapse is a big problem. Human are faced with global warming. Now the earth is getting hotter and hotter so it brings lots of environmental problems. People have to protect the earth, which will get hard to do, but the earth is our living space, so we should keep it clean. Some causes make global warming, such as broken ozone, destroyed forest, and polluted ocean.
First, we have to prevent the breakdown of ozone. The ozone is around the earth; it also helps us to breathe and protects us from ultraviolet rays. Recently, most countries live in an industrial society, so people waste smoke that causes the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is the main reason for global warming and also the broken ozone. If ozone is disappears, everyone can live more in the earth. Nobody can live on earth anymore.
Second, we should protect forest. Trees provide fresh air, but humans destroy mostly forests. Forest is an important resource in the world. It gives us many kinds of supplies, such as wood and fresh air. However, if people would try to plant seeds in the ground, it would do one important thing; save the forest

Meting down Antarctica’s ice
In Peter’s (2008) article “Antarctica’s Wilkins ice Shelf eroding at an unforeseen pace” the author explains Antarctic has a problem, which is Wilkins ice shelf is going to melt. Also this problem will make some problems, like changing the region and raising the sea level. The Wilkins ice Shelf is annually getting smeller; it is a big issuer of a global problem and he discusses the fact that Wilkins Ice Shelf is different from the other ice because it is more gradually thickened than others. This ice shelf helps the other ice keep standing. Also he says scientists have to discover some way to change the strange climate and ocean conditions that might be the cause of Antarctica’s ice melting.
Nowadays, the earth has lots of environmental problems such as Antarctica’s ice melting. Actually, Antarctica is the coldest area in the world, so they have a large ice area. But now the ice is melting and it causes an environmental problem. The biggest problem of ice melting is global warming. Now the earth is getting hotter and hotter. This is the main reason for Antarctica’s ice melting. People have to prevent this problem or how global warming will influence the earth.
First of all, Global warming destroyed Environment. Now the earth’s temperature is going up annually, and this explaining why Antarctica’s ice is going to melt, which is the reason for the sea level rise. This is the problem for animals and humans. If ice is melting, Antarctica’s animals are losing their area. And the sea floods some islands. However, the rising sea level is annually getting higher. This is the most serious problem of global warming.
Next, Global warming make catastrophic weather. Powerful hurricanes, strong tornados, and big tsunamis are caused by strange weather. Last winter Florida had some strange event, which was suddenly that the temperature went down, so lots of tropical animals and plant were dying. It could explain why earth now has confusing weather. It is also a risk of the earth.
Last, Global warming brings Health Risks. Malaria is an epidemic disease from mosquitoes. The earth temperature is going up; that also brings mosquitoes’ rate going up too. Global warming also provides health problems for humans. If people do not prevent this problem that will became the most serious problem.
In conclusion, global warming is no longer just an environmental problem but is the biggest problem for human, If people don’t solve this problem, humans are going to be killed and animals exterminated. Humans live on the earth; it is our settlement, so people should protect the earth by themselves. This is human’s job and responsibility.

Green-Washing in Wal-Mart
In “Green Washing,” the author states that “Green washing is the practice of making and unsubstantiated or misleading claims about the environmental benefits of a products, service, technology or company practice” (2007, para. 1). Nowadays, people have lots of environmental problems such as air pollution, water pollution and soil pollution those reasons are causes of environmental problems. All reasons are related with humans so people want to solve environment problems. However, some people are doing well for the environmental problem, but some do nothing for the problem or the going wrong way for the problem. When people start working for the environment, the first time people would be carefully approaching problem so few problems work out, but some environmental work is gradually departing the wrong way. It shows that a few people who worked for the environment, are working the wrong way. But those people don’t know whether they are going the wrong way or not. So people should pay attention to whether now they are going Green or Green Washing.
According to Whatis.com’s article (2007, para. 2), “Green Washing can make a company appear to be more environmentally friendly than it really is. It can also be used to differentiate a company’s products or services from its competitors by promising more efficient use of power or by being more cost-effective over time,” it explains that most companies want be Green companies. This is a company, which is the most popular grocery store in the world, Wal-Mart. According to “Wal-Mart Stores” article, it all opened in 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas. And today, there are 941 stores across the United States (n.d). Wal-Mart had a slogan, “We save people money so they can live better”. It is their purpose for customers. However, Wilson (2008) writes that Wal-Mart is not a more Green company anymore, but has crossed are to Green Washing Company. Even though, the Wal-Mart tried to solve the environmental problem, some ways are mistakes so this reason has made Wal-Mart go to Green Washing. These days, Wal-Mart tries to be more close to customers but it can be hard to focus on their environmental problem. So they should change some problems of product in its store.
First of all, Wal-Mart should reduce the carbon dioxide level. Carbon dioxide is a cause of air pollution. Lots of products include chemical resources by carbon dioxide. If carbon dioxide flows into the air, it causes air pollution. In Lohan’s article “Don’t Buy Wal-Mart’s Green washing,” he tells us that, “In 2005, Wal-Mart published a calculation of its own carbon footprint, revealing that its U.S. operations were responsible for 5.3 million metric tons of CO2 emissions,” (2007, para. 8). Thus, Wal-Mart’s carbon emissions have a heavy level of effect in the air. Also Lohan (2007, para. 4) claims “Although the retail giant announced goals to cut CO2 by 2 million metric tons in six years, at their current growth rate, their new stores will use more energy than any of the energy saving measure they are going to employ”. These days, there are lots of causes for air pollution, now Wal-Mart is just the smallest cause, but if they don’t reduce carbon emission, it would be biggest problem of air pollution. So Wal-Mart should have a carbon dioxide standard level. Wal-Mart should change shopping style. And should reduce the use of carbon dioxide in the products in its store.
Second, Wal-Mart should start focusing on customers. According to Harvey (2008, para. 5), “Cutting emissions at the point of a product’s use in much harder than cutting a manufacture’s own emissions, because it depends on changing consumer behavior. Reckitt Benckiser is to tackle this by providing information on how to use the products in a more environmentally friendly fashion”. It tells us that customer behaviors affect stores behaviors. In Harvey (2007, para. 6), he claims that “persuading people to cut emissions could also help Reckitt Benckiser’s sales.” If a store wants to be showed Green company and wants more profit, they should be focused on their customers. For example, in Korea most markets have specific events for their store’s customers such as opening a class about saving the environment. The customers learned how to save money and energy, because some customers don’t know how to save the environment. This class teaches about information of life style and how to live better than before. This is one of the most popular events in the Korean markets. It means, markets pay attention to their customers’ behavior. If a market wants to become a green market, the most important resource is customers. If American markets are focus on their customer’s behavior, it should be helpful to their store’s business.
Third, Wal-Mart should organize its own recycling system. In Korea, when people go to a market, they should buy the plastic bag. Each bag has a 50 cent cost. It was started in 2000; this time Koreans say it is very hard on customers because customers should bring reusable bag every shopping trip. The first time, the plastic bag has a 20 cent, cost so people thought it can be available to buy. But after a time, markets are going up for plastic bag’s cost so now it is 50 cents. And if you buy plastic bags and then return it back, they return 25 cents for each bag. This system influences customer’s behavior, so most Korean customers use reusable bags. It is very common in Korea. According to Magestro (2005, para. 5), “The number of plastic bags deposited into U.S. landfills has doubled in the past 15 years, and the 1.63 million tons thrown away in 2003 alone would fill Ohio Stadium to the top six times.” Therefore, Wal-Mart should encourage customers to use reusable bags. If people waste plastic bags, it will be a cause of soil pollution. So Wal-Mart should organize its own recycling system; furthermore, customers should too. Actually, this is related to a focus on customers. If Wal-Mart encouraged people to do recycling system, that would be helpful to both Wal-Mart and customer.
Opponents say Wal-Mart is doing well in its Green Mission. They want to solve the environmental problem, so they have tried several ways. In “Wal-Mart: greenwashing or good business sense?” the author states that “Last summer Fortune reported that by eliminating excess packaging on their private-label line of toys, kid connection, Wal-Mart saved $2.4 million a year in shipping costs, 3,800 trees, and one million barrels of oil. Fortune also reported that the sandwich balers installed in the stores to recycle and sell plastic have added $28 million to the bottom line” (Hollis, 2007, para. 9). However, it is just an outside problem. Wal-Mart won’t pay attention to its own store’s problem. Wilson (2008) claims that “Students from two local elementary schools are collecting plastic shopping bags as part of a contest called the ‘Wal-Mart Kids Recycling Challenge,’ and company officials are hoping more schools join in” (para. 2). If Wal-Mart didn’t waste plastic bags; they wouldn’t need to collect them from elementary school students. It will improve the appearance of Wal-Mart’s image. Some people wondered why they had to collect plastic bags again. In the beginning, Wal-Mart tried to reduce plastic bags. They don’t need to do this campaign.
In conclusion, Wal-Mart has tried to solve the environmental problem; it is a good attitude. Nevertheless, the environment is still having a problem. It shows that Wal-Mart has lots of problems with their store. They should focus on their store’s problem. Wal-Mart tries to change their old habits. In Korea there are many kinds of markets. Korea had Wal-Mart stores, but now they don’t exist. This is a reason; Korea’s markets are trying to change many things for the environment, but Wal-Mart can’t change the same as a Korean market. It shows that Wal-Mart should transfer to a basic form. If people want to change something, they will transfer the basic foundation; however, they left out the first step; they aren’t faced with the basic problem. Whether it changes or not, it is related to the environment. There are basic methods, such as reducing carbon dioxide level, focusing on customers, and organizing recycling system. Those reasons would make better Wal-Mart also a shorter way to Green Company.

Opponents say Wal-Mart is doing well in its Green Mission. They want to solve the environmental problem, so they have tried several ways. In “Wal-Mart: greenwashing or good business sense?” the author states that “Last summer Fortune reported that by eliminating excess packaging on their private-label line of toys, kid connection, Wal-Mart saved $2.4 million a year in shipping costs, 3,800 trees, and one million barrels of oil. Fortune also reported that the sandwich balers installed in the stores to recycle and sell plastic have added $28 million to the bottom line” (Hollis, 2007, para. 9). However, it is just an outside problem. Wal-Mart won’t pay attention to its own store’s problem. Wilson (2008) claims that “Students from two local elementary schools are collecting plastic shopping bags as part of a contest called the ‘Wal-Mart Kids Recycling Challenge,’ and company officials are hoping more schools join in” (para. 2). If Wal-Mart didn’t waste plastic bags; they wouldn’t need to collect them from elementary school students. It will improve the appearance of Wal-Mart’s image. Some people wondered why they had to collect plastic bags again. In the beginning, Wal-Mart tried to reduce plastic bags. They don’t need to do this campaign.
In conclusion, Wal-Mart has tried to solve the environmental problem; it is a good attitude. Nevertheless, the environment is still having a problem. It shows that Wal-Mart has lots of problems with their store. They should focus on their store’s problem. Wal-Mart tries to change their old habits. In Korea there are many kinds of markets. Korea had Wal-Mart stores, but now they don’t exist. This is a reason; Korea’s markets are trying to change many things for the environment, but Wal-Mart can’t change the same as a Korean market. It shows that Wal-Mart should transfer to a basic form. If people want to change something, they will transfer the basic foundation; however, they left out the first step; they aren’t faced with the basic problem. Whether it changes or not, it is related to the environment. There are basic methods, such as reducing carbon dioxide level, focusing on customers, and organizing recycling system. Those reasons would make better Wal-Mart also a shorter way to Green Company.

Using of Wikipedia
What is Wikipedia? It is kind of an Internet encyclopedia. Nowadays the Internet is most the important supply in society. People can do anything in the Internet life, such as receiving information, doing work, and becoming globalized. It helps to our life became more comfortable. Wikipedia also belongs in the Internet society. It helps to people get information. It has a large amount of information. According to Byers (2007, para 3), mostly 38 million people visited the English language version of Wikipedia site, because it has advantages like easy to find, appears at the top of many search sites, and is free to access. But those reasons are just a good point of the Wikipedia. Recently, a lot of organizations have banned the articles from Wikipedia, because Wikipedia consists of hundreds of writers and editors, even though sometime that makes confusion. So it can bring some problems of the Internet society. If Wikipedia follows those advise such as should control users editing, not encourage people’s dependence on the Internet, and provide general answer. Those would be helpful to both Wikipedia and users.
First, Wikipedia should control user’s editing. In “Wikipedia clamps down on ‘unreliable’ editors” the author states, “Under the current system, anyone can edit an entry at time, which means that people often post inaccurate and sometime malicious information,” (Martin, 2007, para. 5). It also explains some editors give wrong information so receivers can have wrong information. Therefore, Wikipedia has to decide the rules to protect the correct information.
Second, Wikipedia shouldn’t encourage people’s dependence on the Internet. Wikipedia provides information and it aims to open minds, as people can find everything in the Internet. But in “Teaching with Technology” the author states, “The internet will never be like the school library. Nor should it be. Its value as a communication medium lies in its openness and diversity. But these same aspects make it problematic for our student. They, like many of us, were brought up to trust what we read in a library book, or in the newspaper, or on television. These communication channels were for the most part well-mediated, and so over the years developed respectable authority” (Lengel, 2006, para. 12). Generally, information on the Internet is from books or any kind of communication channels. Recently, people’s dependence on Internet sources should be stopped. The Internet is not always given to perfect answers.
Finally, Wikipedia should provide general answers. Bilodeau (2008, para. 8). argues some sources of definitions help students, but many professors would not find this acceptable. The students are looking for right answers from an encyclopedia but it just gives definitions; if people want get high grades, they should prepare by themselves. The Internet offers only basic information.
In conclusion, the Internet is part of a progress of getting information. But that is not enough. Wikipedia is just one example of an Internet search site. They should give general information. This site’s purpose is help to people, but if they give wrong information it is silly and not their purpose.

Going up Green Wal-Mart
What do you think? Which is the most popular grocery store in the world? Most people say “Wal-Mart”. People usually go to Wal-Mart, so lots of people have become interested in Wal-mart’s Green-Washing. Wal-Mart is a global company in the world. According to Green-Mart or Green-Washing’s article, “Wal-Mart is not the first company you’d probably think of when it comes to environmental awareness.” (Wilson, 2008). The author thought that Wal-Mart is a green washing company. Nevertheless, they tried several ways, but they still are in the same situation. “Wal-Mart announced yesterday that it will begin asking its suppliers to measure their carbon footprint and find ways to reduce it, part of an effort by the world’s largest retailer to transform itself into a more environmentally friendly company” (Mui, 2007, para.1). It is only one side’s opinion. Wal-Mart looks like a good company. They just focus on outside, none going to attention inside. This is a ridiculous situation, because if people want to change something, they will transfer the basic foundation; however, Wal-Mart is jumped up, they aren’t faced with the basic problem. Wal-Mart had a bad point. They would bring environmental problem, so they followed those resources.
First of all, Wal-Mart should reduce the carbon dioxide level. Carbon dioxide is a cause of air pollution. Lots of products include chemical resources by carbon dioxide. Such as hair spray, that include carbon dioxide so its cause of global warming. if carbon dioxide flows the air, it would cause of air pollution. Wal-Mart doesn’t have a standard level for carbon dioxide. They should have a limit of carbon dioxide level.
Second, Wal-Mart should start focus on customers. In Korea most markets have specific events. One of the most popular events is an open class. It means, marts pay attention to customers. If a mart wants to go green mart, the most important resource is customers. Wal-Mart should start class and teaching that good method for recycling and make recycle product.
Finally, Wal-Mart should organize its own recycling system. In Korea, when people go to a mart, they should buy the plastic bag. Each Bag has a 50-cent cost. But Wal-Mart uses too many plastic bags. The Korean people use recycling bags. It is very common.

What is your favorite restaurant in your own home country?
What is your favorite restaurant in your own home country? What would you order there if you could go there now?
My favorite restaurant in my country is a Korean BBQ restaurant. Once a week our family goes to a Korean BBQ restaurant. When we going there, we always order Sam Gyeop Sal. It is our families’ favorite food. Also it is a popular food among the Koreans. It is similar to bacon, but it is not salty. In America, it’s called side pork. Also Korean liquor, So Ju, is a good match with Sam gyeop sal. After we eat meat, if you want to eat more rice, the restaurant makes Kim Chi fried rice. It is very delicious. In addition, the restaurant makes us feel comfortable. People don’t need to obey the restaurant etiquette; it is much the same as a pub.

Where is an interesting place to buy food? I will tell what makes it interesting to me.
In Carbondale, I usually go to the international Grocery Market, due to the fact that I’m an international student. In there is lots of Asian food, including Korean stuff. Such as, Ra Myeoun, Rice, Kim Chi and To Fu. American grocery markets, like Schucks and Wal-mart, have basic food like vegetables, meat and fruits, even though they have food; I’m Korean so I need more of a selection of oriental food. This is the reason why I usually go to this mart. And when I cook Korean food, I need various spices, but Wal-mart, gives me nothing for to use to cook. Although Schnucks does not sell stuff that helps me to cook, I go there because it is near my house

In Fiona Harvey’s (2007) article entitled “Reckitt’s plan to green-up its customers,” she points out that customers should learn environmental information because cutting carbon footprint is an influence on climate change. In this article, Wal-Mart suggests to suppliers what they should have as a carbon level. Reckitt Benckiser explains that cutting carbon emissions, helps to reduce product costs. However, changing customer behavior helps to cut emissions. For instance, one dishwasher detergent will recommend there are wash at 50 degrees instead of 65 degrees. It gives a good effect to both customer and company. In addition it’s going to be a more environmentally friendly choice.
It is clear that cutting carbon emission is extremely useful because carbon affects to the atmosphere and climate change. Actually, people knew it was important but they didn’t pay attention to this problem. Cutting carbon emission has many advantages. Therefore, every mart should recommend that customers use products that have carbon labels in order to save the environment and reduce energy.
First, don’t use carbon dioxide products such as hair spray and cans. Recently, many kinds of products are made from cans. It is not good for environment. There is the suggestion that is reducing the use of canned products. So if a mart can reduce canned products, it might be a better idea.
Next, open the class about saving environment for the customer. In Korea, some marts have a class for customers about how to save money and energy, because some people don’t know how to save the environment. This class should be teaching about information of style life and how to save money and energy. For example they thought about making recycled soap.
Finally, the mart and the company should decide on the environment standard level and not allow products beneath their standard. When they settle on resource, packing and plan for making or selling a product, they might have a standard level. It helps for customer’s decision on buying. For instance, some products have high levels of carbon; it means this product has the possibility that it cause an environmental problem. So they shouldn’t allow there.
In conclusion, Wal-mart and the stores it include should focus on education for consumers about saving the environment. People know the environment is important, but don’t know how to save it. Therefore it is necessary to teach about a detailed method for saving nature. It is a way to save the environment.

Freedom of getting information
In Jo Twist’s (2005) article “Controversy blights UN net summit,” the author explains about giving the freedom to get information. According to the article, she says nowadays lots of countries share their information. But between rich and poor countries these is a gap about getting information. Also she states that if there is barrier for getting information, it brings negative way to countries. In Tunis, there opened a conference for a summit of solutions. So the UN decided to make freedom get information. The UN has a purpose for free sharing of information and creating information.
It shows that information is important in society. If it is difficult to get information, people will get trouble. So I agree with the author’s point. These countries should make information available like other countries. They should prepare for change.
First of all, people should receive freedom to get information. We live a modern technological society. Every day people contact media once a day. It shows we are in a media world. People should prepare and be ready to change. Information brings lots of advice so people are entitled to know.
Next, people should have freedom to say what they want, when people get information, they have opinions about the information. Some people agree, but some do not want information to be free. We should talks about what we want and think about it. It will make us better than before. If we don’t allow this, people can’t be developed.
Finally, people should have opportunity for sharing information. I suppose that if some country develops new technology, it is good for the environments. But they don’t share it with other countries so their get an environment problem. It is kind of silly. We all live in the earth and are human. So people can require sharing information.
In conclusion, we have the power for knowing information. It helps make our lives more comfortable. We should prepare to change. Information makes it easier to change. There are three ways, such as freedom to get information, say what you want, and share information; those ways are important points in social society.

In Jo Twist’s (2005) article “Controversy blights UN net summit,” the author explains about giving the freedom to get information. According to the article, she says nowadays lots of countries share their information. But between rich and poor countries these is a gap about getting information. Also she states that if there is barrier for getting information, it brings negative way to countries. In Tunis, there opened a conference for a summit of solutions. So the UN decided to make freedom get information. The UN has a purpose for free sharing of information and creating information.
It shows that information is important in society. If it is difficult to get information, people will get trouble. So I agree with the author’s point. These countries should make information available like other countries. They should prepare for change.
First of all, people should receive freedom to get information. We live a modern technological society. Every day people contact media once a day. It shows we are in a media world. People should prepare and be ready to change. Information brings lots of advice so people are entitled to know.
